  • I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Angela. We are the proud foster parents of three adorable and energetic children, ages 6 months, 15 months, and six. Parenting them has been a challenging and rewarding experience. We love living along the Lake Michigan shoreline and are proud to call West Michigan our home. I was born in Muskegon, Michigan to a close and caring family of six. I have two older sisters and a younger brother. I’m also the proud uncle of four nephews and two nieces. My parents have been happily married for over thirty-seven years and continue to play an active role in our lives. They raised my siblings and me in a home full of warmth and selfless love. You’ll have to forgive me for being so “mushy” about my family, but I firmly believe there is nothing in this world more important than family.
  • I teach English 9, 10, 11 and yearbook at FHS; this will be my fifth year at the high school and sixth year with Fruitport Community Schools.  I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with an English major and a History minor. Currently I am pursuing a Master’s degree in educational leadership at Grand Valley State University.
  • I’m passionate about the education of youth, specifically the ability of our future citizens to read and write well. Oral and written communication are indispensable skills for student achievement in all facets of life. All kids can learn, and improved student achievement must be the goal of every teacher.
  • I enjoy drawing/art, reading, writing, history, philosophy, literary criticism, turkey & deer hunting, fishing, classic country & bluegrass, classic rock/blues, weight-lifting, jogging, watching/playing sports (college football!), viewing architecture and city skylines, and above all, spending time with my wife and family.
